dog repellent spray
I found the tick and pulled it off 3- 4 days ago, she seems fine, very active and normal behavior.
I gave her a bath and sprayed tick repellent on her and around the house where she sleeps. Is it necessary to go to the vet and do blood testing?

repel dog
With the price of gasoline, we have decided to vacation close to home, hiking and camping. We would like to take our dogs with us and I was wondering, what do you use on your dogs to repel mosquitoes and ticks? We live in an area with no fleas, so that’s not a problem.
Yes, we are going to talk to our vet, but I wanted to know what you all recommended. Thanks!

dog repellent spray
Late last week, our neighbors did something to cause our dog to be afraid to go into the back yard. Normally, he prefers to be outside and would run all over the yard just because. Recently however, something has caused him to stop doing so. Some of his running would consist of running along the fence line with our neighbor’s daughter, but the other day she did something to our dog that caused him to yelp and run away from the fence. Since, he as been afraid to go withing 50 feet of the fence unless one of use it out with him. We took him to the vet who was unable to find anything physically wrong with him, there were no signs of pepper spray, and the girl and her mother deny doing anything to our dog. Is there a way to find if they are using an ultrasonic dog repellent?

dog deterrent
He wont stop picking at it and I bought this Antiseptic spray with chew deterrent for dogs today but he still itches at it. I just gave him a bath when I found ants by the area and I put triple antibiotic ointment on it…but I’m pretty sure he licked it all off. I’m taking him to the vet on Tuesday which is as soon as I can because they’re all closed for Labor day. I noticed he’s been itching at that spot for about a week but I thought it was just because his hair is long. That spot looks really gross and doesn’t really have hair on it anymore. what can I do in the mean time to help him until I can get him into the vet.

repel dog
I am using vectra 3d a product my vet recommended and still finding fleas on my dog. I spoke to my vet about it he said the problem could be there are too many fleas in the house or the yard and that the product could be being overloaded meaning there are to many fleas to repel. Does this sound at all right to anyone? If a product is meant to repel and kill fleas shouldn’t it do it regardless of the number? Anyone else have problems with fleas still even after using a product?
We have swept all the house and have not seen a single flea jumping around in the compartment where whatever is swept up is contained in our bag less vacuum. We had a flea infestation once a long while back before we got our dog and hd to bomb the whole place. so we know the signs of an infested house. My guess is the yard needs to be treated if it is in fact true flea products can only repel so many fleas. What is your take on this?

dog mace
I was at the dog park today. I got all my things checked and made sure I was ready for anything. So my dog Lucky just really chilled next to me. His an old dog. So he got off my lap and went just behind a tree. I thought he was going to use the bathroom or something, then a minute later this guy came out of no where and started cussing me out! He said that my dog ran over to his dog and started fighting! WHAT!? He was only out of site for a minute! The guy said me dog ran across this dog park just to fight his dog! He said if my dog came within 100 feet of his dog he was going to use pepper spray. So I had Lucky sit on my lap and relax [may I add that during this whole time neither dog was barking nor fighting in any way!]. The guy said that my dog was next to his dog and sprayed my dog with bear mace! Then he ran! My mom got my dog to the vet as soon as I got home! She wants me to stay at the house and watch for the guy. What else can I do?
Doo you think my dog will go blind being sprayed with bear mace and pepper spray?

pepper spray dogs
Ok so its almost every oter time that i try to walk my dog that we get chased by loose dogs in our neighborhood. My town is so horiible about it! I have had dochunds, labs, mutts, pit bulls, german shepherd and a boxer loose that have come after me. Some run off after being yelled at, some when i get a stick or rock and the one wouldnt let me even move and some AWSOME guy in a truck came to my rescue.
Today i go home from work, stepped out of my car (in MY driveway) and from the corner of the house a huge lab mix charged at me with his hair standing on end. I ran intot he house and was going to take my dog out to pee but couldnt as we wouldnt leave. The myneighbors came out with their baby trying to get to their car and the husband had to chase and scream at the dog so his girl could get to the car. If you approach the dog all its hair on its back stands on end!
I called the cops and they said that since most labs are nice and the vet (pound) is full they arent going to do anything and that i need to wait till it leaves to take my dog out. Retarded I know!
So what do you think I should do? I was thinking to get pepper spray or mace, so that i can go out into my own yard, or to carry with me when (which is rare now, i usually go to the next town 15 minutes away to walk him) i try to take my dog for a walk.
Will mace or pepper spray STOP a dog from attacking or just piss it off? Which is better/stonger to use? Anyone else have to deal with this kind of crap and if so what do you do??
10 POINTS!!!!!
"what kind of cop was that"
a really really STUPID RUDE ONE! god i hate this town!

dog pepper spray
Question first, then further details. My dog was sprayed this morning with bear pepper spray, getting several blasts in the face, neck and chest. I poured milk on him to stop the burning immediately, bathed him repeatedly with Dawn dish soap, and have used an eye wash on his eyes a half dozen times or so. Is there any more I can do for him at this point? The vet said I was doing everything right and to just keep an eye on him for an allergic reaction. I am still worried as no matter how many times I’ve bathed him I can still smell that crap. Three calls to the vet later and I’m left with "It will wear off. There shouldn’t be much left by now." So, any ideas or suggestions??
And the details ~ He’s a pit bull, still a puppy under a year old. He was in my front yard this morning under supervision when the neighbor lady walked her dog right at the edge of the yard. My dog went over to check it out, but stayed just over three feet inside the yard’s boundaries. She freaked out and sprayed him as he was loping up to the edge of the yard. I’ve already contacted the police, filed a report, am filing in small claims for damages to myself and the dog (I had a moderate allergic reaction to the spray while getting it off of him right after he was hit with it), the deputy is talking to the prosecutor, and as of about twenty minutes ago it looks as though she will be charged with trespassing, assault and property damage. So, just so everyone is aware, he was not where he wasn’t supposed to be or doing something wrong. The deputy who took my statement and wrote the report, as well as the prosecutor, firmly believes she is 100% at fault.
My biggest concern is that my poor dog still smells a bit like the pepper spray and I am worried that it could still be causing him pain.
