dog pepper spray
One morning my kids were going on a group outing and my dog got out. When I awoke I Heard a ruckas in the front yard I opened my door to my neighbor and the police trying to get a dog(not knowing it was my dog). when I realized it was my dog I pleaded with the officer to please let me come out and get the dog for him he would not let me.,and sprayed a whole can of pepper spray in my dogs face. The sergant on duty came to talk to me and said my dog had bit the neighbor and he was going to be put on quarentine for 10 Days . I told him that my dog at 7 years old doesnt have a mean bone in his body and I want to see the bite. He then said that a animal control officer will be getting in touch with me. Well that Monday morning they came to my house to inform me that they were going to deem my dog as visous and I probably would never get him back and if I tried I would have to get a10,000 dollars insuranse policy just to keep the dog and the counsel would decide if it should go to a hea

dog mace
One morning, my wife was leaving for work (I had already left). She was walking out the door and to her car when she heard the neighbors dog barking. She turned and looked towards their house, and the dog somehow escaped their fenced in yard and was running toward her. She hurried to her car,but realized she couldn’t make it in time. She grabbed the mace out of her purse and sprayed the dog right in the eyes when he ran up to her. The dog started whimpering and ran away. My wife said the dog was barking the whole time he was running up to her and she feared that he would bite her.
The neighbor’s want to sue us, and told us they will be pressing charges against us for "animal cruelty".
Is this right? What do I need to do?

I took my puppy (a 10lb. Pug) out to potty in our front yard at around 11:00pm on her leash. I took her for a short walk up and down the street to get some energy out before going back into her crate. (We live in the city and their are sidewalks.) Another lady and her daughter were also walking their dog and we chatted for few minutes before continuing on our walk. As I was coming up the sidewalk a neighbor very suddenly popped out from inside her parked car startling both me and the pup. I had not seen any cars drive up in the 20 or so minutes we had been out there and was unaware of a person being out there. Her car was in her driveway perpendicular to the sidewalk and she was a good 10ft. away from us. The lady said, "get that dog away from me. I’m about to mace that thing." I said I’m sorry and that she is a nice puppy as I hurriedly began walking away. I do not plan on ever walking my puppy in front if this property and also told my husband about this so he can avoid it. I understand that not everyone likes dogs, but I see the threat of using mace on a 10lb. leashed puppy in the presence and under the control of its owner a bit over excessive and personally threatening to me. Is there anything I should or can do to protect myself and my puppy from a threatening and potentially trouble making neighbor?

I am tired of arriving home afterwork to find a fresh pile of feces in my garden. I was told there is a product you can purchase and spray that will keep pets off your lawn. Has anyone heard of this? Any suggestions. I have already tried to fish out the pet doing it but all my neighbor’s are SURE it’s not there dog. I am willing to go as far a to put something lethal down there if i have to. dog pepper spray
My neighborhood has many dogs in it. Unfortunately, many of these dogs cannot be trusted and are indeed mean. I’ve been chased on my bicycle many times to the point where I stopped riding and walking around my neighborhood for now, especially at night.
I’ve been chased on my bike by 2 rottweilers AND chased and cornered against a wall by 2 OTHERS while jogging. Both times, I was about to be attacked had it not been for the owner running and screaming. My neighbor, who actually owns 2 dogs herself went on a walk the other day and was attacked, knocked down, and bitten by a dog below our house.
So I have reason to be concerned. Now, my question is, 1. What do you recommend? Any particular pepper spray or will any do? and 2. When can I legally deploy it? If I am being charged by a pitbull or rotweiler, should I go ahead and shoot them with it, or wait until they actually bite? I ask this because I know that some dogs just run up and sniff/lick you, but on the other hand, I don’t want to be subdued before I get a chance to defend myself.

dog pepper spray
My Chinese neighbor has 3 large Labrador dogs. In the 4 years that he has had them, not ONCE has he taken them for a walk. I found a bottle of pepper spray that had fallen off the wall that divides our house and into my yard. The poor dogs, not having contact with the outside world, are very aggressive, barking and trying to jump over the fence (without success though) every time someone passes by. I always hear him yelling commands at the dogs in Chinese. I don’t think he is involved in dog fighting because no one comes to his house and his grandma lives with him.
Now, the problem, every time the sound of a siren is audible form the streets, on of the dogs starts howling non-stop. It is a very loud howl and always wakes me up at night.
Here is my dilemma, I don’t want to complain because I don’t want the guy to muzzle the dog. I don’t want the dogs to suffer… At the same time I’m getting pissed at the noise. Do you think I have enough evidence to have Animal Control come and take the dogs? A few years earlier I called animal control regarding ANOTHER Chinese neighbor who hit his Labrador with a beer bottle hit my cat with a large stick. They came and gave him a warning… So if they give a guy who hits his dog and another person’s cat a warning… is it worth calling about this other guy?
The noise is an issue.
well of course, I am just putting the facts on the table to show what kind of guy he is.

dog pepper spray
I run with my dog every day (she’s medium sized and very mellow) and everyday we seem to come across my neighbor who’s dog lunges, barks, snarls and snaps at us. She (my crazy neighbor) does absolutely nothing about it, never tells the dog no…nothing! In fact, now she’s yelled at me because I shake my head or roll my eyes at her (this has been occuring for about 2 years now and I’m pretty tired of it). I worry that some day I (or my total mellow dog) may be attacked. I realize that it hasn’t happened in 2 years, but the dog is obviously not friendly so I am worried…particularly now that the neighbor has yelled at me. Should I get pepper spray? A stick? I don’t think talking to this neighbor is much of an option…she seems to enjoy the behavior of her dog. Oh – and this dog barks constantly when someone walks by their house and it’s in the yard. These people never do anything about it. I’d love to move, but it’s just not possible right now. Any advise?

What irritates me the most about this is that my mom lives in apartments and the management is careless about who they let me in obviously because after evicting a couple who did nothing they moved in these roudy drug addicts with 3 or 4 dogs. One being a full grown german shepard and a pitbull and pitbulls are one of the breeds that are not allowed. Anyways these people harass every neighbor who lives by my mother that has a dog claiming their scared of dogs but their not. Their are like 7 people living in that apartment and tuesday while my aunt was walking my moms dog these 2 men approached her from that apartment and had the pitbull off leash and my moms dog doesnt like other dogs and will bite and she told them to not get close and my cat follows my moms dog everywhere and she was in the bushes at the time but the guys told their pitt to sick my pussy and appearantly the dog went up to my cat was sniffing her and she smacked the pitt with her paw and yesterday she was not walking did not want to be picked up hissed and did not even wanna go outside which is totally out of character for her so when i picked her up and put her on my moms bed my mom noticed a small chunk missing from the back of leg and she didnt have this until that pitt went up to her. My cat is fixed and has all her shots but is not licensed but idk what to do about this because I think it is wrong not to mention some other people sprayed her with dog repellent last week and she is usually an indoor cat and is very sweet. These people threaten to kill everyone elses dogs but now their targeting my animal.
The neighbors over here have complained and the problem with that is that they threaten them and get in their face and try to retalliate

I’m 16 years old, and I live in Ventura, California. I was wondering if it’s illegal to start a dog-walking business (much like a lemonade stand kind of deal, or a mowing-the-neighbor’s-lawn-for- kind of thing) where I live. I don’t have any licenses or permits and I don’t have any other people that will be working with me, no "employees", just me offering to walk people’s dogs for a little bit of cash. I have personal protection (citizen issue pepper spray, legal for minors 16 or older to own) and I’ve been studying dog behaviorism, training, etc. for over a year now (not in classes). I hope to become a professional dog trainer.
