dog repellent spray
My dog & two cats have an AWFUL flea problem right now. We’ve treated them and they seem to be doing better, but the fleas have moved on…to US. My parents are making preparations to bomb/fog the house, and we have carpet spray we’ve been using, but the fleas keep biting. especially in our sleep. I’ve tried bug spray but I don’t see much difference. Is there any HUMAN flea repellent I could use in the meantime until we can fully treat our house?

I sure can used some insite on this! Recently we have had many Coyote’s in my neighborhood. I came upon 2 while walking my dogs. Now carry pepper spray but now I was just informed that also Fisher Cats have been sited and also a Brown Bear.
Any information on the latter two would be greatly appreciated!
Most like time to see them? What to do if I do? Should I just not walk the dogs for a while? I do live in a very country setting but Geeze!!!
Thanks Pam but I live in CT. The state has benn importing the Fisher Cats to try to keep the Geese population down?
Where I live is only 1 1/2 mile from the Ct. River and I already checked no consturction near the river.
Tinker dont worry I dont want them hurt at all. I just want to avoid them at all costs.
Thanks K but I dont think my neighbors would appreciate me blasting Nine Inch Nails at 2 am. Their not really into it like me.
CT wild live just says to avoid them. Duh!

I live in a townhome complex full of dogs and outside cats. We have issues with fleas year-round and I wonder if there are plants that are not hospitable to fleas? I live in Southern California in USDA Hardiness Zone 9.

i walk almost every evening when my husband arrives home from work. i have to wait for this time so he can watch the 3 little kids while i walk. we have no dogs of our own just cats. i do like dogs and i am not afraid of them unless they are being aggressive. we live in a very populated shore area of NJ. there are leash laws here but people dont care. 2 times this week i have had a large dog run up to me barking. yesterday it was a pit bull i think and it was big. it came running from the owners front porch and ran up to me while i was walking in the road. i tried my best to ignore it and listen to my music and not run. it actually snapped at my hand but i pulled away. then for whatever reason it went home. i had my ipod on so maybe the owners saw it. i dont know. i was very scared and my heart was racing. i know this is no fault of the dogs but of the stupid owners! i never walk the same route and i always stay in the road. there are no sidewalks and i never walk on peoples lawns or properties because i know that could make an unseen animal feel threatened and i find it rude to walk on someone elses lawn. i can not carry a gun or knife with me its illegal. also a walking stick or umbrella is way to big because i walk fast. i have no pockets. usually my small ipod is clipped to my shirt and i have my phone in one hand and a bottle of poland spring water in the other. i need something small and effective to ward off these dogs. are any of these effective or do you personally know something that is??
can air horn?
ultrasonic dog chaser?
pepper spray?
citronella spray?
i also want something effective that will not cause the dog to be more aggressive. i want to avoid being attacked!
thanks. serious answers only please

Are there any sprays that scare away cats and foxes, but won’t bother a rabbit? I’d like to get a bunny and build a run for her in my back garden, and I was hoping there’s an easy way to stop predators trying to break in.

I got two cats in March, and a dog a few days ago.
One of my cats has always had the desire to pee on soft items that are not permanently in the living space. He has never peed on the carpeting, couch, or pillows on the couch, but he has peed on blankets on the floor and in my backpack on the floor.
This was tolerable because I could just make sure nothing out of the ordinary was on the floor.
Well, now he’s decided he’s gonna pee on the dog’s bed, which is a big cushion. Any blanket or bed I leave in the dog’s crate he will pee on. I want to keep the dog’s crate open so he can go in and out. I don’t think it’s a territory issue since he did it before the dog.
Short of the spray bottle, which I can only do if I catch him, and he doesn’t seem to give a s*** about, is there anything I can do? I don’t want the bed ruined totally.
Is there a pet repellent only for cats that won’t bug my dog?
Thanks!
I guess I should add that there are two litter boxes, two different kinds of litter, both of which he uses, and I am super clean with them (every day cleaning).
He has been to the vet and has no urinary tract infection. It is really JUST on out of place cloth items. Argh.

I’m investigating cat repellents for my garden. It’s mostly flowers but I do have one area where I grow garlic, so whatever I choose needs to be safe enough to use NEAR the garlic, even if I don’t sprinkle it right on top of it.
I’ve settled on some type of granule because I don’t want to be out there spraying every day.
I don’t need to get rid of the cats completely, they just need to stop pooing in freshly turned dirt.
I’m thinking of either wolf urine granules or Repel Dog & Cat Repellent or Gardeners Supply Company Dog and Cat Repellent.
I’m leaning toward the urine because I think it would be safe to sprinkle around my garlic bed.
I don’t want to mess with pepper or coffee grounds or anything that’s just going to blow or wash away easily, and mothballs are out too.
Have you had success with any of these products or what do you recommend?

Now I let it go the time I saw their son playing with a bb gun.. and later that day my other cat came home with a bb wound on his side. Then they got a dog (pitbull) and tried to teach her to chase our cats. Lucky for us the dog was too sweet to be taught things like that, and then they lost her.
My cats like to stay in either my yard, or go to the neighbor on the other side cause they give them treats, but mostly they just hang out in the back yard.
But tonight, just now, a cat that I’m watching for a friend came stumbling in covered head to toe in pepper spray! His eyes are swollen shut and now he is really sick. So we took him to the emergency vet… and being it isn’t my cat, and the owner has no money (which is part of the reason I’m watching him).. it extra sucks. This is the sweetest cat ever! He has no claws, so it isn’t like there is any way he could be clawing their stuff! Why would they do that?! If they wanted him off their property or something, try WATER. Talk to us, try something other then flat out animal abuse!
These neighbors have done nothing but be a pain in the butt since they moved in. I keep find guys lurking around the side of my house looking to hop in the window of the girls that live there… one of the girl’s kid (a 2 year old boy) likes to wander into a yard and turn on our water hose. We come home sometimes and find it running with no idea how long it has been on… first time I knew it was him was when I walked over to the nozzle to find the kid standing there playing with it, turning it to full blast. I was planning on hanging on to him till the parents came looking for him, but after an hour of baby sitting, I just took him back, and told them to watch him! They actually had NO idea a 2 year old was missing, and didn’t seem to care he was gone.
I hate to stir up trouble with neighbors, cause I hate conflict, and want to come home to a peacful place, but COME ON! I haven’t done squat to them. If they wanted to get my cat off their property (if he even WAS on their property) water would of worked just fine.. no vet needed.
What should I do about these jerks?

I have a fenced in yard and I have a dog, when I let her out she finds cat crap and rolls in it. I don’t want to wash her every time she does this, because it wouldn’t be good for her skin. Is there anything safe I can put in my yard to keep the cats out and not harm my dog. I have heard of Coyote urine. Is this a safe product to keep cats out and also be able to put around my dog without it harming her? Please help!
