My dog Krissie (shih-tzu & maltese mix) is allergic to fleas. She scratches so much to the point that she has scabs and sometimes little tiny balls of hair coming out. I know she’s frustrated and I have tried so many things with no luck. Frontline, Advantage and Comfortis does not work anymore as fleas come back within a matter of days. I took her to a holistic vet several times and she’s been on antihistamines. She’s been flea dipped and I bathe her once a week. I also spray natural bug & flea repellent in addition to anti-itch sprays. These are all natural products as I don’t believe in poisoning my dog with harsher chemicals. None of the above methods have worked and my poor baby is still itching. Does anyone have any similar issues and have resolved this problem? Any suggestions on what to do?

By the way, her diet consists of homecooked food (organic chicken, brown rice, kale & carrots)….with added vitamins. I have also taken out brown rice and chicken at one point to see if she was allergic to them…and turns out that’s not the case either. Any suggestions?

My dog & two cats have an AWFUL flea problem right now. We’ve treated them and they seem to be doing better, but the fleas have moved on…to US. My parents are making preparations to bomb/fog the house, and we have carpet spray we’ve been using, but the fleas keep biting. especially in our sleep. I’ve tried bug spray but I don’t see much difference. Is there any HUMAN flea repellent I could use in the meantime until we can fully treat our house?

I know they’re NOT guns because they (bounty hunters) aren’t allowed to have guns from what I’ve heard. And I think it’s mainly because of a case where bounty hunters mistakenly killed two innocent people about 10 years ago. Are these just for "show"? Are they allowed to use stun guns? I think they are allowed to use pepper spray and that’s all.

I got a BB gun but that wont always work & I’m afraid to spray pepper spray abound my baby incase he breaths some we have neiborhood dogs running around & I dont want to be stuck in the house because of them
I got 16 acres out of town & ppl like 2 drop there dogs off out here & neibors have hunting dogs & u can do whatever u want to dogs in ur yard I have chickens & etc ppl should keep their dogs locked up & this is area with small towns & they dont have leash laws everywhere town votes on them
Im just being overpertective & trying to think of something just incase Ive seen dogs run after ppl after they’ve been hit with sticks & etc I want a sure way to get outta the situation with out haveing to pack a gun around which is another thing I dont want near my kid

I have a bassett hound, and he’s always in my flower bed-and you know what that does to flowers. I love him dearly, & don’t want to use chemicals!

I have a 7-year old male tabby who’s been obsessed with going out the front door of every apt I’ve lived in. He’s always been an indoor cat but will sit at the front door and meow at the top of his lungs. When he’s not meowing, he’s clawing the carpet & has dug a whole in the carpet by the front door of my last three apts. I’ve tried spraying repellent I bought at my local pet store which is supposed to deter cats and dogs from scratching & biting but it only works for a few minutes and then he’s back to work. I try to play with him as much as I can when I get home. I do have another cat but she’s 16 years old and has no interest in playing with him. I’d love to get another cat for him to play with because he LOVES to play but I live in a small apt and 3 cats seems a bit much. Any suggestions?
He is neutered and does not live in a neighborhood where I can let him out unless I want him to get run over by a car.

I just found this news footage… I’m really curious, based on the video footage, what people think (not feel) about this?

Initially I FELT horrified and angry, however, standing back from my kneejerk, emotional reaction I started to consider different elements from this whole situation…
The dog was running at the officer… the woman did not have her dog properly restrained and/or confined in some manner (didn’t have control of her dog basically)… the woman says he could have gotten in his car but the officer’s location alongside his car when the dog was very close shows he probably couldn’t have actually gotten into the car before the dog would make physical contact…

Ultimately, I believe he had NO RIGHT to shoot the dog with his gun. That to me was, excuse the expression, overkill. However, I do feel that he could have possibly be valid in using say, pepper spray or possibly a tazer, if he had one.

What do YOU think??? I’m really curious.

my chihuahua is 1 year old & is housebroken but the issue is with my bathroom rugs. I try to keep the bathroom doors shut at all times but if I do manage to leave it open even for a few minutes my dog has gone in there and peed on the rug. Its so frustrating. I’ll take her outside, she’ll pee 3 or 4 times & poop then come inside and head straight for the bathroom. If the door is shut she tries to find a way in then gives up. We’ve bought new rugs over time, sprayed it with that stuff thats supposed to repel dogs & disciplined her when we see her do it but nothing has worked. I’ll be in the bathroom & walk out to get my t-shirt & by the time I come back she’s peed. Is there another way to prevent this? Why on earth is it just the bathroom rugs? We’ve washed ‘em then replaced ‘em and she still does it. What can I do?

I’m investigating cat repellents for my garden. It’s mostly flowers but I do have one area where I grow garlic, so whatever I choose needs to be safe enough to use NEAR the garlic, even if I don’t sprinkle it right on top of it.

I’ve settled on some type of granule because I don’t want to be out there spraying every day.

I don’t need to get rid of the cats completely, they just need to stop pooing in freshly turned dirt.

I’m thinking of either wolf urine granules or Repel Dog & Cat Repellent or Gardeners Supply Company Dog and Cat Repellent.

I’m leaning toward the urine because I think it would be safe to sprinkle around my garlic bed.

I don’t want to mess with pepper or coffee grounds or anything that’s just going to blow or wash away easily, and mothballs are out too.

Have you had success with any of these products or what do you recommend?

Is it legal to pepper spray a dog at large neighbour refuses to contain her dog this dog keeps coming on my property trying to kill my cat every time it sees my cat out & on her property, this dogs runs over in attack mode, my cat is being forced to go under my car. The owner has been advised and still refuses to contain this mutt. This dog leaves owners yard & enters the street barking at young kids walking by and adults. May I pepper spray this dog if it comes on my property , at some point it will kill my cat.I don’t know what else to do.
Let me add this dog is not on a leash or a chain , it is running at large.It only has a collar and tags,. They refuse to contain the dog onto their property, it is running loose and this is why I ask since may I pepper spray it ?
