I have an old futon that I cover with a sheet to make it less ugly. I had to wash the sheet a few weeks ago and leave the futon uncovered for a day. I’m using a foam pad to bulk up the cushion and make it more comfortable and while it was exposed, my dog became obsessed with trying to chew and eat it. Now that it’s covered again, I figured that "out of sight, out of mind" would mean she would forget about it and leave it alone. However, it’s been weeks and she is constantly digging at the cushions and pulling the sheet off so she can chew the foam. I’m not sure how to deter her from doing this. Simple scolding works for about 5 minutes, then she’s back at it. I’ve tried Bitter Apple on the pad, pepper, spraying her with water…nothing is really working. Anyone have any suggestions to stop this?

If my dog were to bite someone that touched them first(when they didn’t ask permission), would I/my dog be in trouble at all? Are there any exceptions? I mean, it would honestly be the same if someone inappropriately touched a female without permission and she pepper sprayed them if you really think about it.
Yes, please help me out in both cases:
-if someone unexpectedly just touched my dog without permission(please remember the female example as a comparison)
or
-if someone defied my order NOT to touch my dog
And yes, my dog is very close to me on a tight leash… so technically they are in my area… but I’m referring more to physical contact with the dog(touching him), he wouldn’t bite anyone that didn’t touch him first.

Hey Everyone,

I am stuck at a crossroad. I don’t know what to do about my neighbors dog. Every morning when I go jogging his dogs chase me. They haven’t tried anything because I always bring my German Shepherd with me, and he is easily twice as big as these dogs. There are about four of them, and when I run they try to circle barking at me and my dog. I don’t think they will do anything when my dog is with me, but I am worried about what they might do if he is not there. I am also worried that they might get more confident and attack. I don’t want to get bit, and I don’t want my dog to kill their dogs.

I thought about calling animal control on them, but they are rednecks and they might do something to me if they found out. Also, the road I live on is on the outskirts of town and everyone that lives here has lived there for awhile, and I am afraid that the word would spread if someone found out I was the one who called. I hate these dang, and I am thinking about pepper spraying the crap out of them the next time they bother me. Would that keep them away or entice them?
I haven’t talked to the neighbors yet. I kinda don’t want to. Their yard is huge and it looks like a junk yard. Seriously my wife and I call it junk yard paradise. Luckily it is past my house and doesn’t affect my property value.

Also, I am worried if I call animal control and they go down there they will find out it is me, and slice my tires, kill my dog, bust out my windows. Who knows rednecks are retarded, and don’t care about anyone other than themselves.

Maybe I should kidnap these dogs, and drop them off at the animal shelter. Atleast they would have the chance to be with a family who cares about them.

My Pug named Sandy has fleas or has been bitten by fleas. She has the knots on her and I looked on some pages on the net and they said if a dog is allergic to flea bites, they get little knots and they turn red. One page said that were a flea bites, there will be spots that look like pepper. She also has the spots. Is there anything a vet can give her to help with the allergies? I have ordered the Frontine Spray and spray for the house if we have fleas in here. That won’t come until sometime next week. The Frontline drops don’t work, so what do I do until I get the spray to put on my dog and spray the house with?

Hey everyone, now im sure you have heard this question before, but i have a 4month old cavalier king charles spaniel, and he keeps peeing in the house, i have tried training pads, putting him outside, he gets walks 2 times a day everything! and he won’t stop, i don’t want to get him neutered but i was wondering if there was anything i can put on the floor that might stop him peeing? I have tried smacking him and shouting, it’s really getting to me as other than that he’s a well trained pup, he can sit, and do all the normal voice commands. but he won;t stop peeing inside the house. I always take him out about half hour after feeding him or seeing him drink, but he goes outside then comes back in and does it on the floor!! I’ve thought about getting a dog deterer spray but do they actually work? I’ve tried putting pepper down but about 4 people live here so it just gets blown away. I really don’t want to get rid of him as he’s a lovely dog but it’s doing my head in, please help, will vote top answer and if any solutions work i’l give you 50 points!! thank you x

1) some boy a second grader calls 911 and then hang up after a few seconds. The police show up to that house where the 911 call came from. Why did the police also tell him next time were going to arrest you?
2)a person is on someone else property then the ower of that property calls 911. The suspect then goes away before the police show up. Then when the property owner opens the door to the police why do they pepper spray a dog comming out of the premises?
3) a house alarm goes off for a long time nonstop then after a while police show up to the house

My dog got attacked today, she is a small dog. She had minor injuries luckily.
What are some things i can bring with me to protect her?
I don’t have access to pepper spray or mace (I’m Australian) and i don’t want to use wasp spray, as most of them have labels stating that it is not to be used for reasons outside its intended purpose.
I don’t wish to bring a spray bottle either, because it doesn’t spray very far.
I’ve heard of bringing an umbrella, but do i poke the other dog, whack it, open it up and push, or stick it in its mouth so it can’t bite?
Any other things i can use?
What should i do when a dog attacks my dog but has no signs of attacking? (If a dog shows signs i just back off)
Also, if it runs up to my dog and i, should i run? Kick it in the head?

My dog is usually very hyper and playful, however I came home the other night and she was very apathetic and didn’t jump up to greet me as she normally does. I checked out her eyes and they seemed to be watery. I took her to the vet the next day and he ran a blood test and put some drops to clear her eyes. The blood test came out normal. The vet suspected that she might have been sprayed with pepper spray or something of that kind. Her eyes seemed better yesterday, but today they have gotten worse and have some sort of white discharge. She’s been refusing to eat, but has been very thirsty, what are some could possibly be wrong with her? And what are some things I could do to make her feel better before I call the vet in the morning?
By the way she is up to date on all her shots.
OK, I took her to the vet yesterday and he didn’t find anything. I really care for my dog so I would appreciate non sarcastic answers saying I’m not doing anything to help her. Thanks…
I took her to the vet immediately as she started showing symptoms, I did not make her wait.

My son has kept him off my dog for the most part with a bb gun but i’m thinking about buying some pepper spray. I don’t know how else to handle this… any ideas?
i should add that their dog is a doberman while mine is a toy poodle.
